Emma – Labrador mix – 2 yrs – female (48lbs)

Say hello to our sweet little mama, Emma! Emma was surrendered to a very overcrowded county shelter by her owner along with her litter of newborn puppies! Shelters are loud, scary places for new nursing moms and poor Emma did her best to care for her three-week-old puppies. For the next few weeks, Emma sat there caring for her babies and then two different rescues came in and took the puppies to safety, but left Emma there! It’s heartbreaking that they took the pups and left the mom. Emma sat scared and worried at that county shelter. When we heard what had happened, we couldn't stand the thought of Emma sitting there alone so we swooped her up. We also learned that, at such a young age, she has already had two litters! Well no more babies for her! Emma is now spayed and waiting for her special person or family to come along. ❤️

This little girl deserves so much more than what she’s had in her first two years. Emma is eager to be loved and find out what a “real” home is like. She loves to go for walks, but loud noises spook her a little. She redirects well and happily goes about her adventure. She is good with other dogs, but not overly playful yet so her best fit would be a calmer male dog. She’s loving, loyal, and so very grateful already…just imagine how she’ll feel once she’s in a loving home! Our sweet Emma is going to be the BEST addition to some lucky family.
