Joey – Labrador mix – 1 yr – male (56lbs)

Introducing our handsome boy, Joey! This little cutie was surrendered to a county shelter when his so-called owner decided that “puppyhood” was too much for him to handle! It’s heartbreaking that people don’t think before they get puppies and of course it’s the dog that ends up paying for it. Well, sweet boy, we are determined to find you that perfect home where you will be loved forever!

Joey is at our shelter now and is turning out to be such a sweetheart. He appears to be housebroken because he doesn’t have any accidents in his kennel area. He loves people, but is a bit timid when meeting new friends. We know that his original owner surrendered him when he was only 8 months old and obviously didn’t spend much time socializing him. We believe that he will get over his nervousness once he’s been around people more and is exposed to more new things. He does well with other dogs, but plays hard and has the time of his life! Joey needs some leash training, but definitely enjoys the adventure of a walk. He’s sweet, loving, and desperate for attention. Joey deserves so much more than he’s gotten in his short life; we want to prove to him that not all humans are selfish and uncaring. Will you be the one to show our Joey love? We certainly hope so! Please start by completing our application – let’s get Joey in the home he’s truly been waiting for!
