Clayton – Pitbull/Dachshund mix – 3yrs - male (35lbs)

Say hello to our little short stack, Clayton! This boy was turned into a county shelter by people who said he was a stray, but they somehow knew all about him…including his name! 🧐 Apparently they were moving away and decided they no longer wanted him in their family. It’s hard to imagine why they didn’t have room for this adorable little guy. We took one look at Clayton and his teeny legs and decided we needed to rescue him! 

Clayton cracks us up and it’s not just because he’s such a hilarious mix. He’s also happy, energetic, and has personality for days! He does well on a leash, but after a short walk, his little legs are ready for a rest. This is not a dog that will be good for hiking or jogging, but if you want a companion who’s sure to entertain and make you smile, Clayton is your guy. He’s housebroken, good in his kennel, and loves life! He plays gwith other dogs, even though most are bigger than he is, he can hold his own. He’s quite the character and keeps everyone at the shelter laughing – we all love him. Clayton is smart but stubborn and while he will learn commands well, he may not always want to listen – he thinks he’s too cute to be told what to do.
