Meet our big boy, Dixon! Sadly, Dixon has been bounced around since he was a puppy. He was originally adopted from a shelter in New Mexico, but that guy didn’t realize how much work a puppy was and left him with his elderly parents. They couldn’t handle his size and surrendered him to a county shelter here in AZ. He was then placed in a few foster homes and eventually went to a “foster-to-adopt” situation. Heartbreakingly, that person then had some kind of breakdown and was found walking poor Dixon on the freeway in traffic! He was taken back to the county shelter where we spotted him and rescued him to safety with us. We’re now determined to find Dixon a forever home where someone appreciates the amazing boy he is becoming. 

Dixon is a happy-go-lucky kinda guy. He’s outgoing, exuberant, and very smart. He loves playing with the hose and splashing around in water. He takes direction well, but will need a strong, consistent owner to set boundaries. Fetch is his favorite game and he would love a person or child to play catch with. Dixon has a big body with a big personality, but is also very loving and sweet. He loves to go for walks but is very strong and needs an experienced walker to keep him on track. Dixon is super smart and we believe he’d do well with agility-type games or activities. He’s an athlete and would make a great hiking or jogging partner. This boy is looking for a forever love. He wants to prove what an outstanding addition to a family he can be if given the opportunity; all he needs is some stability, something he’s never had before.
