Dorsey – Siberian Husky mix – 2 ½ yrs – male (50lbs)
Look who’s back in our care…our happy guy, Dorsey! This boy was originally found as a stray when his owner didn’t want to wait to surrender him at county so he let him loose instead. Luckily, this sweet boy didn’t get hit by a car or worse. We saw his adorable face at that county shelter and stepped in to rescue and bring him to safety at our shelter. He was adopted from us back in October of 2025, but sadly, has now been returned after living with that family for 8 months. The family that adopted him told us that they were unable to housebreak him which was a big issue because they also have a crawling baby. We don’t really know what life was like in their home, but it seems that they may have been overwhelmed by having both an active dog and a young child. Thankfully, we got him back in our care and he didn’t end up at another county shelter. Dorsey’s been adjusting to life at our rescue again and is his same happy self.
Dorsey is outgoing, very playful, and full of bubbly energy! He cracks us up with his enthusiastic expressions and silly personality. He plays well with other dogs, but plays hard and wants his playmates to do the same. Dorsey is great with people and thinks everyone he meets is his new best friend. We do know that he is not good with cats. He’ll make a great sidekick to an active person or family that will include him in their adventures. Dorsey loves the water and we bet he’d love to go on outings to a lake. He would also be a great jogging or hiking companion; he loves to be out and about doing new things and meeting new people. He’s very smart, although quite stubborn, so training, as with most huskies, can be challenging. He does know a few tricks and loves to show off. He’s silly, attentive, and affectionate. If this smiley goofball sounds like a good fit for your life, and you have the time and patience for training and exercising him, please make a plan to meet Dorsey. This sweet boy has now lost two homes and we desperately want Dorsey’s next home to be forever! ❤️
