Elke – German Shepherd mix – 3 yrs – female (68lbs)
Please welcome to our gorgeous mama, Elke! Elke was found running in an area known for dumping dogs. She was found by some good samaritans who quickly realized she was pregnant. It was hot out and she was in no condition to be on the streets. When the kind citizen reached out to us, we just had to rescue her. Elke went straight to our “mama-foster” where she was pampered while waiting for her pups to be born. She had nine adorable shepherd puppies and was a great mom, but now this girl just wants to have fun! No more taking care of pups, Elke is ready to start her new life!
Elke is an amazing dog! She absolutely loves people of all ages and will definitely let you know when she wants attention…which is often. 😂 She is great on a leash and will make a great companion for outdoor adventures. She’s very good with other dogs and loves to play. If her new home has another dog, it will need to be a male and at least 40 pounds. She plays hard and does have a typical shepherd prey-drive. She appears to be housebroken as she does not have accidents in her kennel area. Elke has a lot of shepherd traits: she is smart, busy, protective, and strong-minded. Once she’s in a home, she will protect her people so it’s important that she goes to a home that has experience and is willing/able to get her the training and exercise that will help her thrive. This sweet girl is the total package; she will make a wonderful addition to the right person/family. If you think that’s your family, please complete an application to make our happy girl yours!
