Gretchen – German shepherd mix – DOB 3/26/25 – female

Meet our beautiful girl, Gretchen! This sweetie came to us off a ranch when the owner didn’t care enough to spay her mom or to keep the pups out of the heat. A ranch-hand who did care reached out and asked us to help and that’s just what we did! Gretchen now lives with our director who fosters all the SHR puppies and she is doing amazingly well.

Gretchen is an awesome dog! She is super sweet, loves tummy rubs, and wants to sit in your lap even though she has pretty much out-grown most laps. 😊 She’s great with all the other puppies and adult dogs in her foster home and uses a doggie-door like a champ – she doesn’t have any accidents. She does have a pretty high prey drive so her best fit will be with a medium to large dog in her new home. She’s very smart, outgoing, and full of puppy-personality. While she does get into things like any puppy, she also takes correction very well. Grethen is also very treat motivated so training should be easy. She’s lots of fun and a total lovebug! She is going to be quite big so if you’re looking for a medium sized dog, Gretchen is not your girl. But if you want a fun, lovable, big presence in your life, you just found her!
