Hunter – Labrador mix – 11 months – male (66lbs)

Introducing Hunter! This adorable pup was surrendered to a county shelter along with a sibling because the owner “couldn’t deal with all the puppy energy”. Why do we hear this so often? People really need to consider their lifestyle BEFORE they bring a puppy home, especially a large breed puppy. But their loss is our gain and we snatched him from that county shelter and made him part of the SHR family.

Now that he’s with us, Hunter is having a ball. He is still very much a puppy and yes, he does have plenty of puppy energy. Labs tend to live their entire lives as puppies. Hunter would benefit from some basic training and boundaries. He loves to stand up in front of you with his paws on your shoulders and look right into your face. 😂 Thankfully, he takes correction well, is treat motivated, and really wants to please. He does have occasional accidents in his kennel area, but it’s getting better every day. Hunter is happy, fun-loving, and adores people! He is good with other dogs and has a number of play-buddies, but his best fit would be a dog in his size range that plays a bit rough as well. He will make a great outdoor adventurer and an awesome companion overall. If this adorably goofy boy sounds like he belongs in your home AND you have the time and patience for big puppy energy, please complete our application to meet and hopefully adopt Hunter. He’s waiting for you!
