Jewel – Mastiff/Boxer mix – 2 ½ yrs – female (60lbs)

Please help us welcome Jewel! Jewel was surrendered to a county shelter because her owner was diagnosed with cancer and didn’t feel like she could care for her any longer. Poor Jewel went from a loving home to a crowded, loud, scary, county shelter without having any idea what was going on. When we were told that she was struggling there, we were happy to bring her into the SHR family. Jewel is settling in with us, but is still somewhat unsure of what’s happening to her. She’s learning that we all love her and we can tell that she wants our affection so badly.

Jewel is a sweetheart. She is housebroken, good in her kennel area, and does well on walks. We don’t believe she got outside of her house too often because everything still seems very “new” to her and it takes her a minute to feel comfortable. She loves people and we think she’ll adjust well once she’s in an actual home. Jewel does well with other dogs, but has not been very playful yet. She prefers lying in the sun and relaxing. She is smart, loving, and great company. Even though she’s pretty good sized, she’s gentle and easy to handle. Take a look into her big, beautiful brown eyes and if she’s tugs at your heart-strings, please apply to meet and hopefully adopt our Jewel. She’s truly a gem. 💎
