Josephine – Treeing Walker Coonhound – 5yrs – female (49lbs)
Say hello to our gorgeous hound dog, Josephine! This poor girl lost her home when her owner had back surgery and could no longer care for her and surrendered her to a county shelter. We saw how sad she was there and swooped her up to safety with us.
Josephine has settled in well at our shelter and we absolutely love her. Her previous owner was able to give us some information and we know that she lived in that same home since she was a pup. Josephine is house broken, good with children, and even lived with a cat. Having said that, that does NOT mean she would be good with every cat, just that she is at least used to being around one. We’ve learned that she is a bit nervous when meeting new people, but warms up quickly. She loves her morning walks, but like most hounds, she follows her nose and tend to be all over the place, zig-zagging as she enjoys all the smells of the adventure. Josephine loves the outdoors and will make a great hiking and camping companion. She enjoys the company of other dogs but we have not seen her play much. She also lets you know when she wants attention, surprise, she’s vocal. 😂 If our adorable Josephine sounds like she belongs in your life, please complete our application to make that happen.
