Lacey – Staffordshire Terrier mix – 2 yrs – female (59lbs)
Say hello to Lacey! This poor girl was found in an abandoned house looking for food in trash cans to survive. On the day after Christmas, Animal Control arrived to get her out of there. She was understandably terrified. Poor Lacey spent the next five months at the county shelter until we rescued her and made her part of our SHR family.
Lacey is such a sweetheart! She can be shy at first, but we certainly don’t blame her, it takes some time to build trust. Once she gets to know you, she’ll be sure to come over for some pets and love. Loud noises can be a bit scary for her too. We’re working on building Lacey’s confidence and, little by little, she’s learning that humans aren’t so bad. We do believe that Lacey lived in a home at some point because she appears to be housebroken. She plays well with other dogs at our shelter and would be best in a home with another dog. She also loves the baby pool and will get in it the water every chance she gets. We know that with kind patience this sweet girl is going to blossom and become the best companion to some lucky person or family. Is that person you?
