Please welcome our adorable little mama, Penny! Penny’s story is sadly very common; her owners never spayed her and when she ended up pregnant they no longer wanted her. She was surrendered to a crowded county shelter along with her newborn babies. Thankfully, County reached out to us and we were happy to make them part of our SHR family. Penny was a great mom, but was happy to have her babies weaned so she can get all the attention herself. And now she’s spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her very own home! 

Penny is happy, full of life, and so much fun! She plays well with other dogs and has a number of play-buddies at our shelter. We believe she’s housebroken because she doesn’t have accidents in her kennel. She’s good on a leash and loves the adventure of a walk. Penny is a great companion on hikes and would love to hang out with her people around a campfire – she just likes to be close and involved.
