Sable – German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix - 20 months – female (63lbs)

Meet our gorgeous mama, Sable! Sable was originally owned by a young man who lived with his parents. When he moved out, he left her with them. They eventually realized she was pregnant and didn’t want to deal with any of that. Sadly, Sable was surrendered to a county shelter once she had her puppies. We were called and were happy to step up and rescue Sable and her puppies. We took them straight to our “mama-foster” where she had a safe, quiet place to care for them. Now Sable is spayed and done being a mom…it’s her turn to live life to the fullest! 

Sable is an awesome dog! She’s great in her kennel and seems to be housebroken because she never has accidents. She’s a little timid on walks, but will take cues from her walker and becomes more confident as she goes. She’s great on a leash. Sable can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, but once she knows you, she’ll give you a big “woo-woo” as a greeting. Once she trusts you, she loves you! She has a number of canine playmates at our shelter. She can be vocal and plays pretty rough so we think a bigger dog would be her best match. Sable also loves to splash around in the baby pool. She’s a loyal and loving girl, even though she’s been let down by humans, and we can’t wait for her to find a forever home.
