Walker – Staffordshire Terrier mix – 2 yrs (54lbs)

Meet Walker! This handsome guy was found in an abandoned house; Animal Control isn’t sure how long he had been there, but he wasn’t in good shape. Walker was taken to a county shelter where he sat for TEN months and then landed on the euthanasia list due to “deterioration in the kennel environment”. When we saw the plea for help, we knew we had to step in and bring him to safety. Who could look at that adorable face and not want to help?!

Walker was very stressed when he came to our shelter, but he’s getting better every day. He’s learning that people can be kind and life is actually pretty good. We don’t believe he was an “inside” dog in his first home, but he’s a quick learner and he’ll be easy to train. He loves to go for walks and is great on a leash. Walker enjoys a dip or two in the baby pool and it’s so fun to see him relaxing and enjoying life. He’s good with people of all ages and a staff and volunteer favorite. He does enjoy playing with other dogs, but is very vocal which can sometimes intimidate the other dog. Walker is sweet, loving, and has the kindest eyes. He would love a home where someone takes him on regular walks and allows snuggle time on the sofa.
