Ziva – Cane Corso – 7 months – female (65lbs)
Meet our adorable “little” pup, Ziva! Ziva was found running loose in south Phoenix. Thankfully, a good samaritan picked her up off the streets and reached out to us to help. As a general policy, we do not take in strays, but this girl had a special issue and needed medical attention so when we were asked to help, we couldn’t say no. Ziva had double cherry-eye which, if left untreated, can actually cause blindness. We believe that’s likely why she was left homeless on the streets. The surgery is simple, yet costly, and she needed both eyes done. We quickly got her in for surgery in September and, after three weeks in a cone healing, she is looking and feeling so much better. Now Ziva is excitedly waiting for her forever person to find her!
Ziva is a true gem and we all love her outgoing, goofy personality. She’s happy, very playful, and loves attention. She loves everyone she meets, including children. She also plays well with other dogs, but plays hard and can be a lot for some dogs. Despite her size, she is still ALL puppy and will need training and consistency to grow into her best self. And grow she will! While she is very sweet and silly, this breed is NOT easy and Ziva will need a strong dog-owner who has knowledge of the breed. They are guard and protection dogs and definitely not for a first-time dog owner. In the right home, Ziva will be an amazing companion and loyal family member.
